Do you want to cultivate a refuge in your body - a visceral, spiritual home - to stay alive to what you care about, even when the heat is on?
Breathing as Neighbours - meeting ourselves and the times
An afternoon of metta practice and listening circles at Ceres, East Brunswick
Sunday 20th Sept, 1-5pm
Not throwing in the towel
Not escaping troubling truths
But also falling, into nourishment
Room to not know, to sit and to speak,
to stumble, get clear,
Edge out, find congruency.
When everything feels so urgent, it can almost feel shameful to stop, to pause - to gently lay your hand on the ground, on the trunk of an old gum, on yourself or on another.
Yet we need this deeper pulse of connection, this sustaining tap root to inspiration.
So that we can resist, as the Buddha said, spiraling down and around cycles of harm fuelled by aggression, greed and delusion…
Together, through an afternoon of metta (loving-kindness) practices we ‘warm the ground’ by sitting with the people directly in front of us, within the spaces between us… seeing what emerges together.
Space for quiet and space for utterances - personal experience, what's happening right now - in your body, your home, and also our broader context - these escalating world events.
Together, how might we make room for our differing or colliding views - whilst at the same time also settling and being nourished by a deeper dreaming that practice points us towards?
To cultivate regenerative seeds - growing corridors of aliveness that can flow within and through the body - and beyond.
Not to exit. But to enter and act from a deeper place.
Everybody welcome… activists, professionals, parents, the exhausted, burnt out, the inspired…
Let’s gather to be nourished by a day of metta. This starts with you - as we resource ourselves, we can become a resource for others.
