“If there’s a gathering of yoginis (female practitioners) - that’s where you want to be”
A lot of the Buddhist practices were written for men, in a different time.
Whilst in the Insight tradition it was clearly stated that women have the same capacity to ‘wake up’ as men, practices were still from a male experience. Of course there are crossovers, but there are specifics to female practice, in relation to diverse cultural constraints, desire, safety, the body…
I’ve hit dead ends following this masculine model and had to detour - jump the fence - and find other places to grow, whilst maintaining intense devotion to my classical roots.
If a woman feels safe and at ease in her body - and also has a healthy capacity for self protection - so much life can come forward. Practice can zoom ahead in an integrated way.
In the tantric tradition, the feminine is reinstated
Immanence is given as much weight as transcendence. Life - not trying to get away from it!
You’re invited to join a fabulous community of women - professionals, creatives, mothers, activists…
In particular we’ll be reviving one aspect of the tantric map - that of the colour red.
RED is….desire with discernment - not holding it back, but cultivating a wise relationship to it.
Curiosity, inquisitiveness, openness. Freeing intelligent desire through our bodies and also knowing our limits.
Let’s fire up together for what’s next in your life - deepening practice to rise up in support of creativity, career, relations, leadership - your particular voice and expression.
This is the first women’s retreat Jess has offered since 2020, and will be limited to 30 women.
